Around 1993, Ronnie and Brenda Luther decided, since they have no children of their own, that they would help provide a happier Christmas for a needy family with children.
They received such joy and fulfillment from seeing the children's faces light up that year, they decided to add another family or two the next year.
Word got out. Soon, they had people calling them to tell them of this family and that family who needed help at Christmas. They were torn over having to choose the few families that they were able to help and knowing that there were other children who might have a bleak Christmas because of not belonging to one of the chosen families.
Ronnie and Brenda sat down together and started brainstorming solutions to this problem. Soon, it was readily apparent that they would need help, and lots of it!
Luckily, Ronnie and Brenda have a very large circle of friends and associates who were more than happy to volunteer their help.
Thus, the Clydesdale Children's Christmas Store was born. As a result of the help from their friends, the Clydesdale Children's Christmas Store has been able to help between 500 and 1000 children every year for the past 5 years.
